Reports: Tom Brady in on Celtics' pitch to Kevin Durant

Looks like the Celtics are breaking out the big guns in the Hamptons in their sales pitch to Kevin Durant.

According to multiple reports, including Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald and Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will join the Celtics as they meet with Durant today on Long Island.

A photo posted on reddit Saturday showed Brady walking with Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge and Steve Pagliuca, one of the Celtics owners. Behind them were Celtics players Kelly Olynyk and Marcus Smart. Celtics players Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder and coach Brad Stevens were also expected to be in the meeting.

In addition to the quest for Durant, the premier NBA free agent this off season, the Celtics are reportedly among the finalists to land free agent big man Al Horford. They are in position to be able to offer two max contracts.

Durant, from Washington D.C., is a Redskins fan but is apparently a long-time admirer of the Patriots' quarterback.
