The Boston Bruins announced the signing of Fabian Lysell, the team's first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, to a three-year entry-level contract on Monday.
The 18-year-old Lysell, a right winger, was the 21st overall pick in July's draft. He'll carry an annual cap hit of $925,000.
"Couldn't be more happy to join such a distinguished organization," Lysell wrote in an Instagram post.
A native of Gothenburg, Sweden, Lysell had three points (two goals, one assist) in 26 games for Luela HF of the Swedish Hockey League in the 2020-21 season.
At the 2021 World Junior Championships, the 5-foot-10, 172-pound Lysell had nine points (three goals, six assists) for the Swedes, who took home the bronze medal.
