Brandon Carlo: The ‘goal-scoring thing isn't my forte'

So far through their first 15 playoff games, the Boston Bruins have gotten production from every player on their team. They have seen 19 different players score goals this year, which ties their franchise record for most goal scorers in a single postseason.

However, they have had one regular that hasn't netted a goal. That's defenseman Brandon Carlo. Despite this fact, Carlo doesn't seem too concerned with putting one in the back of the net.

“The whole goal-scoring thing isn’t my forte,” Carlo said per Matt Porter of The Boston Globe. “Maybe I’ll slide an empty-netter in. We’ll see.”

Though Carlo isn't as confident in his scoring ability, third-line center Charlie Coyle is and took time to praise Carlo's effort in the postseason.

“It’s going to come,” Coyle said per Porter. “Brandon Carlo, in my opinion, has been one of our best players . . . He’s been my favorite player to watch. I tell him every game. He’s been a beast this whole playoffs.”

Coyle has a point, as Carlo ranks seventh on the Bruins in plus/minus (plus-5), has logged two assists, and has committed only one penalty in the postseason. He has been a steady force, and having him healthy for the postseason has certainly been a net positive for the B's.

Carlo will get a chance to continue his solid play on Tuesday night for the Bruins' Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes. The game will start at 8:00 p.m. and can be streamed on the NBC Sports App.
