Add two more postponements to the Boston Bruins' upcoming schedule.
The NHL announced Saturday that the Bruins' games have been postponed through Sunday, Dec. 26, amid concerns about the spread of COVID-19. The team's training facilities also have been closed until further notice.
Boston's Saturday game against the Canadiens in Montreal was called off Friday, while the club's home game against the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 23 was postponed as well.
The NHL's announcement Sunday means that the Bruins' next four games are off. Here are those postponed games:
- Saturday, Dec. 18 at Montreal Canadiens
- Sunday, Dec. 19 at Ottawa Senators
- Tuesday, Dec. 21 vs. Carolina Hurricanes
- Thursday, Dec. 23 vs. Colorado Avalanche
The team's next scheduled game is against the Pittsburgh Penguins at home on Monday, Dec. 27.
A surge in COVID cases is taking its toll in U.S. professional sports, with several other NHL teams impacted as well. The Nashville Predators also had their games postponed through Dec. 26, while the Calgary Flames are on pause through Dec. 23.
