Before Thursday night's game vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Boston Bruins took time to honor Bishop Feehan hockey player A.J. Quetta, who suffered a serious spinal cord injury earlier this week.
The Bruins and the Boston Bruins Foundation pledged a minimum of $100,000 to support Quetta. In addition, used game sticks from B's and Penguins players will be available for auction and proceeds will benefit Quetta and his family.
"Despite these tragic circumstances, it makes my family and the Boston Bruins organization very proud to see such an outpouring of support from the New England hockey community," Boston Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs said in a statement. "A.J. and his family should know that they are not alone in the journey, and that we will be with him the whole way."

Bruins forward Charlie Coyle spoke before Thursday's game about the support for Quetta from the team and the hockey community as a whole.
“I think the big thing is just the hockey community rallying around when that happens,” Charlie Coyle said. “You see so much support, you know, A.J. and his family aren’t alone by any means. So many people behind them, supporting them, helping out as best they can and sending well wishes.”
Brad Marchand also hung a No. 10 Bishop Feehan Shamrocks sweater on the glass behind the Bruins bench.
Quetta suffered the injury crashing into the boards during a game Tuesday night. The North Providence, R.I. native underwent successful surgery Wednesday night, but he still has a long way to go in his recovery.
