Already thin on the blue line, the Boston Bruins lost another defenseman on Tuesday night.

Jarred Tinordi left the B's-Penguins matchup in the second period after Pens winger Brandon Tanev slammed him into the boards with a hit. Watch the play below, via the Boston Sports Journal's Conor Ryan:

Tanev was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding. The Bruins were unable to capitalize on the five-minute power play.

Boston already lost defenseman Brandon Carlo earlier this month after a dirty hit by Washington Capitals winger Tom Wilson. Wilson was suspended seven games for the headshot.

The B's ruled Tinordi out for the remainder of the game with an upper-body injury.
