Before Thursday night's game, the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers took a moment to honor former NHL player Colby Cave.

Cave, who made his NHL debut with the Bruins in 2017, tragically passed away in April 2020 after suffering a brain bleed. He was 25 years old and in the midst of his second season with the Oilers at the time of his death.

His widow, Emily Cave, followed an emotional tribute video by performing the ceremonial puck drop at TD Garden. Watch below:

Game-used sticks from Thursday night will be auctioned off by the Boston Bruins Foundation to benefit the Colby Cave Memorial Fund.

Cave played 67 career NHL games between Boston and Edmonton, tallying four goals and nine points.
