Ovechkin scores in OT to finish off Bruins, 4-3

The Boston Bruins stormed back from a 3-0 deficit vs. ex-B's captain Zdeno Chara and the Washington Capitals on Saturday night, but they were unable to finish the job in overtime.

The Caps got off to a commanding lead with goals from Nicklas Backstrom, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Tom Wilson. The Bruins responded with a power-play goal late in the second period, then a Brad Marchand goal and a game-tying Charlie McAvoy score to force OT. Unfortunately, it was all for naught as Caps star Alex Ovechkin quickly put home the OT game-winner.

David Pastrnak had five shots on goal and an assist in his first game of the 2021 season.
