Bruins vs. Hurricanes live stream: Watch NHL playoff game online

There's no getting around the fact that the Bruins' three round-robin games in Toronto were pretty disappointing.

Zero wins. Zero power play goals. Zero seconds with a lead. Only one point from Boston's vaunted top line of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and David Pastrnak.

But here's the good news for the Presidents' Trophy winners and defending Eastern Conference champs: None of that really matters now.

Sure, instead of locking up the top seed that they had earned over the five-plus months of the regular season, the Bruins enter their first round matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. But if the B's can flip the switch and start strong against the Canes, those round-robin struggles will be quickly forgotten.

However, Carolina enters the series as the hottest team in the NHL restart. The Hurricanes were the only team to sweep their qualfying round series, outscoring the Rangers 11-4 while only trailing for three minutes over the course of the three games. And the news gets better for the Canes, with Dougie Hamilton likely returning to the lineup for the first time since January.

The first-round series marks the second straight year that the teams will face off in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as the Bruins outscored the Hurricanes 17-5 while sweeping the Eastern Conference Final last May.
