The second-round playoff series between the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders has moved to Nassau Coliseum for a pivotal Game 3 on Thursday night.
The Bruins overcame a two-goal third period deficit and forced overtime in Game 2 but weren't able to seal the win. The Islanders scored on a breakaway in the extra period to even the series at a win apiece.
The loss snapped the Bruins' five-game playoff win streak. However, there are reasons to be optimistic about the B's bouncing back in Game 3, though. For starters, they have been a good road playoff team in recent seasons. They also are expected to get top-six forward Craig Smith back in the lineup after he missed Game 2 with a lower body injury. Boston has controlled the majority of play at 5-on-5 through the first two games, beating the Islanders in nearly ever shot metric and goals scored.

The Islanders are a confident team, though, and posted one of the best home records of any NHL team during the regular season at 21-4-3. Nassau Coliseum also has increased its fan capacity to 14,000 for Round 2, which will make an already raucous environment even more energetic.
