Highlights: Bruins' winning streak snapped at six games in 6-4 loss

The Boston Bruins were going for their seventh straight win on Friday night in their third game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Unfortunately, they saw their winning streak come to an end at six games.

The Sabres ended up scoring five unanswered goals to earn a 6-4 win over the Bruins. The Boston offense simply couldn't make much headway against Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, a 22-year-old Finnish goaltender who was making his first start for the Sabres, until late in the game.

However, the team did score three goals late in the third period to make a game of it, but they just didn't have quite enough time to tie things up. As a result, Luukkonen ended up beating his fellow countryman Tuukka Rask to earn his first NHL victory.

Rask saved just 24 of 28 shots faced and was eventually was replaced by Jaroslav Halak, who was playing his first game since being reinstated from the COVID list, in the third period. It marked Rask's first defeat since returning from injury.

It should be noted that the Bruins were playing this game without Patrice Bergeron, and the team had to shuffle their lines a bit as a result, with Charlie Coyle centering the first line, Curtis Lazar centering the third line, and Anton Blidh playing wing with Sean Kuraly at center on the fourth line. That had a ripple effect on the team, but nonetheless, they still should've been able to perform better against the Sabres.

Here are the highlights from the Bruins' loss to the Sabres, their first since before the NHL trade deadline.
