Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara had to leave Game 4 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final after he took a puck to the face.
UPDATE (Monday, June 3 at 10:22 p.m. ET): Chara has returned to start the third period, and he has some more protection.

Chara fell to the ice and had a pretty good amount of blood gushing from his mouth/nose area. He stayed down on the ice for a little bit but was able to skate to the bench under his own power.
Check out the scary scene from the second period in the tweet below. A deflection off a St. Louis Blues shot caused the puck to go up toward the 6-foot-9 defenseman's head.
St. Louis went on the power play shortly after Chara's exit, and the B's were able to kill it in impressive fashion despite being without their captain and top penalty killer.
The B's have not issued an official update on Chara's status as of this writing.
