The Carolina Hurricanes aren't the only NHL team with a combative Twitter account.
The Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets needed overtime in Game 5 of their first-round Stanley Cup Playoff series in Toronto on Wednesday.
That meant a delayed start time for the Hurricanes' Game 5 against the Boston Bruins, which was scheduled for 4 p.m. ET but had to wait until Lightning-Blue Jackets finished at Scotiabank Arena.
Considering Bruins-Hurricanes Game 2 was pushed to the following morning after Tampa Bay and Columbus went to five overtimes earlier in their series, Carolina and Boston fans were a little wary as Wednesday's Lightning-Blue Jackets game went to extra time.
So, the Hurricanes decided to tweet about it -- only to be eviscerated by the Blue Jackets' Twitter account.
That's a well-executed Twitter takedown, folks.
Unfortunately for the Blue Jackets, the Lightning sent them packing minutes after they sent this tweet with a 5-4 overtime win.
Bruins fans are hoping the Hurricanes meet the same fate, as Boston can dismiss Carolina from the Toronto bubble and advance to the second round with a win Wednesday afternoon.
The new puck drop for B's-Canes Game 5 is 4:20 p.m. ET, a delay of only 20 minutes. Not much to complain about there.
