Two current members of the Boston Bruins are one step closer to bringing home some hardware for their respective countries.
David Pastrnak, along with former Bruins teammate David Krejci, helped Czechia advance to the semifinals of the IIHF World Championships while Jeremy Swayman is moving on with the United States on the opposite side of the bracket.

Both Pastrnak and Krejci had goals for the Czechs in a 4-1 quarterfinal win over Germany, assisting on each other's goals as they've played on the same line -- something they seldom did over seven seasons as teammates with the Bruins.

Krejci (2-8--10 totals over eight games) is fifth in the tournament in scoring and Pastrnak, who joined the Czechs late following Boston's elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, is up to 4-3--7 totals over just five games. Czechia will play Canada, the defending champions, in the semifinals, as it goes for its first title at worlds since 2010.
For the Americans, Swayman recorded a 33-save shutout -- his second of the tournament -- in a 3-0 win over Switzerland to advance to the semis, where Team USA fill face host Finland.
The U.S. has earned four bronze medals over the last nine tournaments, including just last spring, but hasn't won gold at the world championships since 1960.
