David Pastrnak set for milestone appearance with Bruins

When he takes to the ice Friday night, David Pastrnak will be making a milestone appearance for the Boston Bruins.

Boston's road game against the Winnipeg Jets will be the 500th of Pastrnak's career, making him the 53rd player in franchise history to get halfway to 1,000.

Pastrnak, 25, has been nearly a point per game player since debuting in 2014, with 233 goals and 255 assists for 488 points. He's the fourth player from his draft class to appear in 500 games and the only one not drafted among the top three picks in 2014 (Aaron Ekblad, Leon Draisaitl and Sam Reinhart) to get there. Pastrnak was selected 25th overall by the Bruins.

Despite his young age -- and the fact that the Bruins have existed for nearly a century -- Pastrnak is already 17th in franchise history in scoring. Should he play another 500 games in black and goal at his current rate, he should have no trouble cracking 1,000 points, though Ray Bourque's franchise record of 1,506 is likely safe.
