Highlights from Bruins' 4-1 win over Sharks

FINAL SCORE: Bruins 4, Sharks 1

IN BRIEF: Thanks to some terrific play from the first and second lines, the Bruins jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first period and never looked back, as they extended their points streak to 14 games in what may be Joe Thornton's final game in Boston.

FROM JOE HAGGERTY

That was a pretty good first game in Black and Gold for Marcus Johansson, who had a partial breakaway that Martin Jones turned away midway through the first period, and then notched his first point as a Bruin when he assisted on Jake DeBrusk’s goal in the second period. He showed very good skating wheels, looks like a big upgrade on the second power play unit, and seemed to gel pretty immediately with David Krejci and DeBrusk on that second line. Johansson finished with a couple of shots on net, a couple of blocked shots, and a plus-1 to go along with his helper, and definitely looked like a player that could be of some help to the Bruins in their search for offense.

Krejci came up with his 15th goal of the season, teeing off on a one-timer chance after a Torey Krug pass on the power play for the game-tying goal. Krejci continues to score a bunch on the PP filling in for David Pastrnak’s spot on the top PP unit, and is very quietly having an extremely good season for the Black and Gold this year.

Sign me for up for a Bruins/San Jose Sharks Stanley Cup Final after two highly entertaining games between the two teams. The second was a 4-1 win after the Bruins scored three unanswered goals in the second period, but it was entertaining, nasty and notable hockey, with Zdeno Chara and Evander Kane dropping the gloves in the third period when Kane decided to jump the Bruins captain from behind after things had pretty much been decided. Couple that with the offense and the star power, and it would be a fun series if it came down to that at the end of the hockey season.
