25 saves and counting for Tuukka Rask as he’s been excellent through two-plus periods and stood tall against a Blues team that’s been getting the better of the chances. Rask made one crazy behind-the-back save that Charlie McAvoy then swatted away from danger as it was still bouncing around in the crease area. One has to wonder if Rask is entering the zone he’s going to need to be totally into if the Bruins are going to win these final couple of games with the Stanley Cup on the line.

The Bruins get some penalty calls and they generate some offense. It’s funny how that works. The B’s got a 5-on-3 power play advantage and Brad Marchand finished with a one-timer rocket off a cross-ice pass from David Pastrnak, and that gives them an early lead in exactly the way you want it to go on the road. They couldn’t do anything else with the remaining minute of PP time, however, and weren’t able to generate a ton of 5-on-5 chances beyond their power play stuff. That continues to be a concern.

Karson Kuhlman has been pretty good with three shot attempts in 12 plus minutes of ice time and he’s been able to accelerate the speed level for the second line with his skating legs. Then he had the cherry on top of the sundae when he rifled home a wrist shot to the blocker side in the third period to make it a 3-0 lead for the Bruins. Kuhlman wasn’t a dominant figure by any means in the game, but he stepped up and gave the B’s a little more speed and a little more versatility up front that really helped figure in to Boston’s effectiveness against St. Louis.
