Jaroslav Halak highlights: Watch his best saves from Bruins 2019-20 season

Share

Boston Bruins goaltender Jaroslav Halak was having a great year backing up Tuukka Rask until the NHL season was put on pause due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Halak ranks sixth in the NHL with a 2.39 goals-against average and 12th with a .919 save percentage. He's also tied for eighth in shutouts with three.

Some of his saves have been absolutely spectacular, so let's take a look back at some of the best from the 2019-20 campaign starting from his first game in goal against Arizona.

Oct. 5 vs. Arizona Coyotes

Halak stopped all 35 shots in his season debut and led the Bruins to a 1-0 win over the Coyotes. His stops against Vinnie Hinostroza and Clayton Keller were some of the best from the game.

Oct. 10 vs. Colorado Avalanche

Halak's two stops on Gabriel Landeskog were huge against the Avalanche, but unfortunately, the B's lost 402 on the road.

Oct. 14 vs. Anaheim Ducks

Halak stopped 30 of 32 shots in a 4-2 win over the Ducks. What's weird about this is that he robbed former Duck and current Bruin Ondrej Kase of a prime scoring opportunity.

Oct. 19 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

The Bruins lost this game 4-3 in overtime to the Maple Leafs, but Halak robbed Tyson Barrie of a major scoring opportunity when it was a 2-1 game.

Nov. 4 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Halak stopped 40 of 44 shots in a 6-4 win over the Penguins. Some of his best saves included robbing Sidney Crosby point-blank.

Nov. 16 vs. Washington Capitals

Halak stopped 42 of 44 shots but the B's fell to the Capitals 3-2 in the shootout. However, he absolutely robbed Alex Ovechkin on a shootout attempt.

Jan. 4 vs. Edmonton Oilers

The Bruins fell to the Oilers 4-1, but that didn't stop Halak from robbing one of the game's best in Connor McDavid.

Jan. 16 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Halak stopped 29 of 30 shots in a 4-1 win over the Penguins, including multiple stops on breakaways.

March 5. vs. Florida Panthers

The B's beat the Panthers 2-1 in overtime and Halak made a terrific save in extra time to give Boston the opportunity to win the game.
