Morning Skate: Bruins dress up in Star Wars costumes

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading with Halloween less than a week away.

*Speaking of Halloween, here are all your favorite Bruins players dressed up as Star Wars characters while visiting children’s hospital on Wednesday. The videos and photos of these visits are always great, and the sight of Charlie McAvoy as Yoda, Frank Vatrano as Chewbacca and Ryan Spooner as Princess Leia is really worth the price of admission.

*Embattled Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin says that the Habs must overcome their issues from within, and that there’s no cavalry coming.

*The Flyers have dodged a bullet with Nolan Patrick potentially getting injured, and it instead looks like he’s going to get back into the lineup without a problem.

*Cool piece in the Players Tribune about Las Vegas resident Deryk Engelland talking about the bonding between the Golden Knights and the city of Vegas during an important time.

*The underlying numbers say that there should be a cause for concern with the Chicago Blackhawks despite their decent record.

*Good piece from FOH (Friend of Haggs) Sean Leahy at PHT about the man behind most of the novelty jersey designs in minor league hockey.

*Is Alex Galchenyuk a first line center, or is he a depth line winger that’s always going to be a challenge for his coach to find a place for him?

*A Red Wings fan has decided to use his hate for the Toronto Maple Leafs to help raise some money for charity. What a great idea.

*For something completely different: Can we stop turning attractive people in mug shots into some sort of a viral thing on the Internet?
