Morning Skate: Force is strong with these P-Bruins Star Wars jerseys

Share

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while having gone through just about all of March without feeling any madness whatsoever.

*The Providence Bruins have their Star Wars jerseys up for sale with the proceeds all going to charity, and it’s the perfect items for those that are both Bruins fans and Star Wars fans!

*While I can appreciate a thoughtful essay on why Connor McDavid should be on the Hart Trophy ballot, I’m a hard “no” on this one. I just can’t reward an NHL that’s one of the most disappointing in recent memory given their talent, and what they did last season. Sorry, I just can’t reward anybody that was smack dab in the middle of that mess.

*Good piece from FOH (Friend of Haggs) Mike Russo about the NHL Department of Player Safety and the hard work and dedicated people that work together on a nightly basis to develop consistency and proper discipline when players step over the line. They catch a lot of flak from all sides, but there’s always a lot of thought behind every single decision.

*There will be no Cinderella run for the Boston University men’s hockey team as they fell to Michigan last weekend in the first round of the Frozen Four tournament.

*The Winnipeg Jets are built for success in the playoffs and this could be the season they really do some damage.

*Speaking of the Jets, this is a pretty cool moment after this weekend’s game with Bryan Little bringing a young fan to tears after giving him his stick in the postgame Three Stars announcement.

*Patrick Marleau gave his son an extra special birthday gift at Maple Leafs practice involving his own favorite player.

*For something completely different: Finally some details are coming out on "Stranger Things" Season 3 and it sounds like more goodness.
