Morning Skate: Is the Hurricanes' post-win celebration ‘pee-wee garbage'?

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while still digesting yesterday’s Thanksgiving turkey.

-- Brian Burke stirred up the millennial hornet’s nest by calling the Carolina Hurricanes' post-win celebration a bunch of “pee-wee garbage” over the holiday. I actually don’t mind it that much, particularly in a non-traditional market like Carolina where it’s turning more fans onto their on-ice product. After all, they trade the pregame at Carolina’s arena like it’s a tailgate BBQ for a college football game, so why not bring more of the college atmosphere to the Hurricanes themselves. It’s certainly not hurting anybody. But the outrage over Burke’s comments is also a little bit of an overreach given that it’s supposed to be a professional league. I mean, he does kind of have a point.

-- Good piece for the Thanksgiving holiday about what the Minnesota Wild players are thankful for at this time of year.

-- Congratulations to #Hockeytwitter for getting their own emoji. Now if they could also be reasonable in their takes and reactions to all things hockey, we’d really be cooking.

-- The trials and tribulations continue for the Pittsburgh Penguinswith the news that Matt Murray is going to be out long term with a lower body injury.

-- On this day in NHL history, Bruins defenseman Eddie Shore set a record with five fighting majors in one game. That must have been hell of a Thanksgiving night leading to all that.

-- For something completely different: Not sure why this has appeared on twitter feed now, but I’ll always browse a top-10 list of Sopranos episodes.
