*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Eric Engels calls it and says that Montreal Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin needs to turn the page on this season for the Habs. While that might be tempting given the three-game losing streak on top of a season of struggles, the bottom line for Montreal is that they haven’t played the Bruins yet this season. If they swept all of the games against the Bruins, which is highly unlikely, they might still have a chance at pushing into the playoffs in the second half of the season. That’s as good a reason as any not to pull the plug right now, but that moment is coming next month if the Bruins hand it to the Habs.
*Former Nashville Predators player Eric Nystrom is suing the organization over the treatment of his past injuries while playing.
*Fredrik Claesson got two games for his head shot on Noel Acciari, and Senators coach Guy Boucher defended his player as “a terrific person” that wasn’t a head-hunter. Maybe he just doesn’t know how to throw a hit then? We certainly learned that he doesn’t know how to fight after seeing his attempt with Tim Schaller.
*With Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban both healthy for the Golden Knights, it’s going to be interesting to see how things develop with the Vegas goaltending situation.
