Morning Skate: Time to put Willie O'Ree in the Hall

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while the Zack Snyder fans need to give it a rest. His DC movies sucked. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

*TSN asks the question as to whether Willie O’Ree should be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Frankly, I find it embarrassing that he’s not already in there after being the first black player to cross the NHL color barrier with the Bruins. This should have already happened a long time ago, but it’s never too late to honor a great man and trailblazer.

*All the Stanley Cup contenders have improved around the NHL as the trade deadline has come and gone. Well, almost all of them anyway.

*The Florida Panthers were heavily involved in the talks for Ryan McDonagh and expect to be very active during the offseason when some big names could be available.

*It is absolutely a tough time to be an Ottawa Senators fan these days with a team at the bottom of the Eastern Conference pile and star players that are poised to take off.

*Speaking of the Senators and Erik Karlsson, it sounds like the Vegas Golden Knights have made inroads toward landing the Sens D-man this summer.

*For something completely different: A great piece on Drazen Petrovic, who died 25 years ago in a car accident and is probably my second favorite NBA player of all-time behind Larry Joe Bird. I used to do major damage playing Petrovic and Derick Coleman with the New Jersey Nets in NBA Jams back in the day. Much respect to the best European hoop player that I ever saw play the game.
