NHL moves Bruins-Canadiens game from Montreal to Boston

The Boston Bruins won't travel to Montreal to take on the rival Canadiens on Jan. 12.

The NHL announced Tuesday that due to attendance restrictions amid the region's surge in COVID-19 cases, the upcoming matchup will be played at TD Garden instead of Bell Centre. A make-up date for the Canadiens' home game vs. Boston will be announced at a later date.

The Bruins haven't played since Dec. 16 as the NHL continues to postpone games amid the rise in COVID-19 cases across the league. Ten B's players and nine Canadiens players have been placed in COVID protocol this month.

Boston's next game is scheduled to be played Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden.
