NHL postpones Bruins-Avalanche game Dec. 23 as COVID-19 cases increase

The Boston Bruins have had another upcoming game postponed as COVID-19 continues to impact the NHL and the other sports leagues.

The Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers have all had their games from today through Dec. 26, which is the end of the NHL's holiday break, postponed. The league made the announcement Friday.

This means the Dec. 23 game between the Avalanche and Bruins at TD Garden has been postponed. No makeup date has been scheduled at this time.

The league also postponed Saturday night's Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens matchup at the Bell Centre.

The B's currently have seven players and two staff members in the league's COVID protocol.

The other two upcoming games for the Bruins -- Sunday against the Senators in Ottawa and Tuesday versus the Hurricanes in Boston -- are currently scheduled to go on as planned.
