NHL Rumors: P-Bruins captain Jordan Szwarz to sign with Senators

A staple of the Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate reportedly is moving on.

Winger Jordan Szwarz, who served as the Providence Bruins' captain last season, is signing a one-year contract with the Ottawa Senators in free agency, longtime Bruins writer Mark Divver reported Monday.

The 28-year-old spent the past three seasons in the Bruins' organization and was a solid contributor in Providence, tallying 20-plus goals and 46-plus points in each of his campaigns.

He had a brief stint with Boston's NHL club during the 2017-18 season, tallying three assists over 12 games.

While Szwarz was an integral part of the Bruins' minor league system, it's no surprise he's moving on to Ottawa, where he'll seek NHL playing time for the rebuilding Senators.
