Noel Acciari: ‘Now it's a best-of-3 series and we have home ice again'

The Bruins pulled off a key victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night to even their series at 2. The Bruins won 4-1 and played what was one of their better overall games of the series.

Bruins forward Noel Acciari was happy with the team's overall effort in Game 4, and in particular, he was pleased with the performance of the penalty kill. He expressed his thoughts in an interview captured by the Bruins' official Twitter account.

The PK was a lot better than it was in the past couple of games. We were able to shut down their power play there. They're playing well and we know that, and Joe has done a good job with tweaking it and getting us ready for last night's game.

They have a lot of weapons and we want to limit them as best we can. I think we did a good job of that.

On Thursday night, the Bruins didn't let the Blue Jackets score once despite having four power-play opportunities. Even better, the Bruins were able to score twice on the power play as well, so they ended up having an advantage on special teams (though they did give up quite a few shorthanded opportunities, which will need to be cleaned up in Game 5).

In the previous two games of the series, the Blue Jackets had been 3-for-7 on power-play opportunities. So, either way, the penalty kill was, indeed, a massive improvement in Game 4.

Acciari also discussed how important getting the win was, especially before returning home, to maintain home-ice advantage.

You work hard all year to get home ice advantage. Now it's a best-of-3 series and we have home ice again.

The Bruins will have a chance to take the series advantage on Saturday night. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. and can be seen locally on NBC10, nationally on NBC Sports, and streamed on the NBC Sports App.
