Stanley Cup odds 2019-20: Red-hot Bruins vault to No. 1 in latest betting lines

The Boston Bruins are on fire, and oddsmakers have noticed.

The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas revealed its latest Stanley Cup championship betting lines for the 2019-20 season on Monday, and the Bruins are atop the list with 7-1 odds, just above the rival Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Bruins beat the rival Montreal Canadiens 3-1 at TD Garden on Monday night for their seventh consecutive victory. The B's are tied with the Washington Capitals for the most points (43) and wins (19) entering Monday night's slate of games. Boston has played one fewer game than Washington, though.

The Original Six club has not suffered from the dreaded Stanley Cup hangover following June's heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Aside from a four-game skid in early November, the Bruins have been close to unbeatable this season. The B's have only three regulation losses, and none of them have come at home.

The Bruins are playing exceptionally well, but getting back to the Cup Final a year after losing in that round is rare. The Pittsburgh Penguins are the only team since 1985 to lose in the Cup Final and come back and win it the following campaign. Pittsburgh lost to the Detroit Red Wings in six games in 2007-08 and beat the Red Wings in seven games the next season.
