Torey Krug excited for Brandon Carlo, cracks joke about Carlo's availability

The Boston Bruins are getting ready for the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. As they prepare to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Bruins are all ready, and Brandon Carlo is one of them. And his defensive partner, Torey Krug, couldn't be happier.

Krug said that he was happy that Carlo would be healthy, and even joked about making sure that Carlo would be able to play in an interview captured by the Bruins' official Twitter.

I'm pretty excited for him. I know he's been bummed the last couple of years. I've kept a close eye on him the last few days, wrapped him in bubble wrap to make sure he's ready to go. Very excited for him.

It makes sense that Krug would be happy that Carlo is healthy, as the two have played very well together over the course of their respective careers.

Carlo has never played in the postseason. Each of the past two years, he suffered injuries at the end of the regular season and had to miss the postseason. This year, the Bruins took extra caution and sat him out the final two games after they clinched home-ice advantage in the first two rounds.

Of course, the Bruins aren't without injuries in their defensive corps. Kevan Miller will not be ready to start the playoffs after suffering a late-season knee injury while John Moore has been out for some time as well. As a result, Steven Kampfer or Connor Clifton will have to step into the lineup. Both played well to close the season, so they should be able to hold their own.
