Boston Bruins fans will have mixed feelings about David Krejci's first game with HC Olomouc in his native Czech Republic.
Krejci, who announced in July he was moving on from Boston to continue his hockey career overseas, scored Friday in his debut with his new team. The 35-year-old buried a goal in the second period to tie things up at one apiece.
A bittersweet moment for those who watched Krejci the last 15 years with the Bruins.
HC Olomouc won't have to worry about Krejci heading back to Boston any time soon. The 2011 Stanley Cup champion recently confirmed he would spend the entire season in the Czech Republic and therefore would not return to the Bruins next spring.
As for how the Bruins will proceed without Krejci, it looks like Charlie Coyle will get the first crack at the second-line center role. In the meantime, B's fans and players -- including captain Patrice Bergeron -- will hope to see Krejci back with the organization someday down the line.
