Draymond Green took advantage of a golden opportunity in Tokyo this summer.
The Golden State Warriors forward famously shared a screenshot of him getting a FaceTime call from Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady after Green's Team USA squad won gold at the 2020 Olympics.
But as Green explained to Carmelo Anthony, that FaceTime may not have happened if Draymond hadn't initiated with on Instagram.

"He DM'ed me. He was like, 'Yo, congrats, lets' f---ing go,'" Green told Anthony on Anthony's "What's In Your Glass?" podcast. "And I was looking at it like, 'Oh, s---.' So I'm like, 'Yo, appreciate it. Hey, all the fellas want to FaceTime you.' I sent my number and he called in 10 seconds."

Green was on a plane home from Tokyo with some of the best athletes on the planet, but when his USA teammates heard he had Brady on the line, they transformed into fans.
"I think we all feel the same way: Brady (is) the GOAT, man," Green said, describing how several Team USA players took the phone from him to get some screen time with the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Brady has always appreciated athletic achievements in other sports, and he certainly can relate to succeeding at the highest level. We also shouldn't be surprised that NBA stars -- Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum among them -- were eager to catch a glimpse of Brady; after winning his seventh Super Bowl at age 43, the former New England Patriots QB has solidified his status as one of the most successful athletes of all time, period.
Perhaps Tatum can transfer some of his gold-medal success to the Celtics, who are aiming to bounce back this season after a disappointing 2021-22 campaign.
