This absurd stat shows Celtics' impressive dominance during win streak

The Boston Celtics have won five consecutive games, but the most impressive part of the win streak is how dominant they've been in the month of December.

Celtics radio play-by-play announcer Sean Grande tweeted a crazy stat showing how long it's been since Boston last trailed in a game. They've actually gone nearly three games without trailing and have outscored opponents by a wide margin over that span.

According to Grande, the C's have not trailed since Jayson Tatum put Boston ahead 32-30 with 9:12 remaining in the second quarter of their win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 1. That's a span of 129:12 during which the C's have not been behind, and they're outscoring opponents 350-256 over that time. Sure, more than half of that margin came in Saturday night's historic 56-point win over the Chicago Bulls, but it's still an impressive run.

The Celtics host the New Orleans Pelicans -- who they beat 124-107 on Nov. 26 to begin their current win streak -- at TD Garden on Monday night.

Boston will be without several key contributors, likely including their veteran Big 3 of Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and Gordon Hayward. But it probably won't be too tough of a hurdle to overcome because those absences will give extra minutes and bigger roles to talented young players such as Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier.

And we saw in the 2018 NBA playoffs how well those three guys are capable of performing, particularly at the offensive end of the floor, in featured roles.
