Anthony Davis's father doesn't want son to play for Boston Celtics

We have heard a slew of reasons why Anthony Davis might not want to be in Boston long-term or in the eyes of some, at all.

Here’s a new one … Isaiah Thomas.

No, the former Boston Celtic hasn’t chimed in on the Davis-to-Boston talk, but Anthony Davis’ father, Anthony Davis Sr., holds no punches back as to why he wouldn’t want his son to play for the Celtics.

In a text to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, he wrote, “Boston … I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas … NO LOYALTY… guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him … anyone can print that.”

For a quick refresher, Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder along with Ante Zizic and a first-round pick, were traded to Cleveland for a package highlighted by Kyrie Irving coming to Boston.

Boston had to add an additional second-round pick (from Miami) to the deal when the Cavs team officials felt they needed additional compensation due to Thomas having an injury that their medical team determined would keep him sidelined longer than apparently they thought when they had initially agreed to the trade.

Thomas wound up playing 15 games for the Cavaliers before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers where he played another 17 before being shut down for the season following season-ending surgery.

He has yet to play this season, but signed with the Denver Nuggets in the offseason.
