Brad Stevens: Guerschon Yabusele (ankle) ‘probably out for a while'

The Boston Celtics’ big man depth took yet another hit on Saturday night when Guerschon Yabusele came down with a right ankle injury.

Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens said the Celtics’ medical staff told him that Yabusele had a “bad sprain.”

While there was no break, Stevens said, the ankle injury means Yabusele will “probably be out for a while.”

Yabusele was seeing increased playing time on Saturday because the Celtics were already without Al Horford (knee soreness) and Aron Baynes (ankle).

Daniel Theis was having a career game for the Celtics, but with the game well in hand Stevens turned to Yabusele and others at the end of the bench to close things out.

Yabusele was trying to contest a shot and came down on the foot of a Bulls player which twisted his ankle to the point where he could not get up on his own.

After being examined initially by the medical staff, Yabusele was helped off the floor by teammates Marcus Morris and Jayson Tatum.

He finished with two points, two rebounds and three assists.
