C's Langford leaves game due to non-COVID illness

Already shorthanded, the Boston Celtics announced midway through the first quarter they'd be without yet another player against the Dallas Mavericks.

Backup guard Romeo Langford was a late scratch from Saturday's game in Dallas, the team announced, due to a non-COVID related illness.

The game was already underway when Langford left the team's bench, per Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

The Celtics are without Jaylen Brown for at least Saturday's game, though they did get back reserve swingman Josh Richardson for the game.

Langford, in his third year with Boston after the team drafted him 14th overall in 2019 out of Indiana, is averaging 6.2 points per game.
