Before the Celtics took care of the Raptors in their Christmas Day win in Toronto, Enes Kanter saw his even being able to play in the game as a win given his issues with traveling outside the United States, which A. Sherrod Blakely chronicles here and Chris Forsberg here.

The Celtics center arrived at the Scotiabank Arena wearing a message.

"Freedom for ALL" the t-shirt reads.

He played outside the United States for the first time since visiting Toronto with the Knicks on Nov. 10, 2018. He had skipped the trip as a member of the Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers after Turkish prosecutors issued an international warrant for his arrest because of the native of Turkey's outspoken criticism of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s government.

“Definitely amazing,” Kanter told the Associated Press after the game. “I just can’t describe it with words. Just going out there was more than just a basketball game. For me, it was just going out there and living this freedom.”

Kanter even joked about it on Twitter along with a video of his off-the-mark desperation heave just before halftime.
