BOSTON -- The third quarter has been a major problem for the Boston Celtics, often being the one time in the game when they seem to be at their worst.

But on Wednesday, there was no third quarter struggle but instead a third quarter surge which propelled the Celtics to a 126-94 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.

Boston (32-19) has now won two straight and seven of its last eight games overall.

A three-pointer by Charlotte’s Kemba Walker cut Boston’s lead to 73-69 in the third quarter. From there, the Celtics ran away with the game courtesy of a 25-6 run which gave Boston a comfortable 98-75 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Boston would push its lead to as many as 35 points in the fourth before finishing with a decisive victory over the Hornets (24-26).

STARS

Jaylen Brown: It seems with each passing game, Jaylen Brown is finding the best way to impact the game is by getting buckets - lots of buckets. He led the Celtics with a double-double of 24 points along with 10 rebounds.

Jayson Tatum: He came out playing with an aggressive edge from the outset, scoring 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting in the game’s first eight minutes. Tatum would finish the night with 20 points on 9-for-15 shooting along with five rebounds.

Kemba Walker: An All-Star starter next month, Kemba Walker carried the Hornets most of the night. He would lead the Hornets with 21 points on 9-for-20 shooting from the field.

STUDS

Terry Rozier: The floor game of Terry Rozier was strong all night before finishing with a stat line of 17 points and a career high-tying 10 assists along with grabbing five rebounds.

Marvin Williams: He didn’t get many opportunities to shoot but to Williams’ credit he made the most of them. He had 10 points, doing so on 4-for-4 shooting.

DUDS

None: It was by no means a perfectly played game by Boston, but other than Marcus Smart missing five of six shots, there really wasn't much to complain about or nitpick in what was a strong night on all fronts for Boston.
