Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka won't be with the team for Monday's media day as he recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The Celtics announced Udoka, who is vaccinated and asymptomatic, is in his 10th day of isolation and will not attend media day festivities in person. Instead, he will address the media via Zoom.
"He's been fairly asymptotic for the last 10 days, thankfully he was vaccinated," Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens told reporters. "it hasn't hit him like it's hit others that we've heard about all over the country. ...
"He's good at connecting with people ... even when he hasn't been there."
The plan is for Udoka to be with the team for practice on Tuesday.
Udoka took over for Stevens -- who replaced Danny Ainge in Boston's front office -- as head coach in June. The 44-year-old is entering his first season as an NBA head coach.
