The Boston Celtics will be without Jaylen Brown when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Monday night.

Brown has been ruled out due to a non-COVID illness, the team announced. The 26-year-old was listed on the injury report as questionable earlier in the day.

Brown's injury designation coincided with Kevin Durant trade rumors that floated around on Monday. ESPN's Stephen A. Smith sparked speculation about a potential Brown-for-Durant deal on First Take, stating that Boston has "made some calls" and to "keep an eye" on Brown. However, there have been no other indications that the Celtics have discussed such a trade for the Brooklyn Nets superstar.

Brown is in the midst of a career season with the Celtics. Through 47 games, he's averaging 27.0 points and 7.1 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the floor. That effort earned him his second All-Star nod.

Celtics-Pistons is set for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off on NBC Sports Boston.
