Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum played at a very high level during the 2020 NBA playoffs, and he joined some impressive company along the way.

The 22-year-old star averaged 25.7 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and 1.1 steals per game in the postseason, in addition to shooting 44.8 percent from the floor.

Tatum became just the sixth player age 23 or younger in league history to average at least 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game in a single playoff run.

Even though the 2020 playoffs ultimately ended in disappointment for Boston after losing to the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals, it still was a successful season for the C's, and Tatum's improvement is among the main reasons why.

Tatum had a somewhat lackluster second year in which he made only modest improvements in his scoring and rebounding averages, while shooting worse from field, including a sizeable decrease in 3-point percentage.

He bounced back by taking a giant leap in Year 3, becoming an All-Star for the first time and being selected to the All-NBA third team.

Tatum is well on his way to being a top 10 player in the league and a perennial MVP candidate. He's always been a quality scorer, but the improvements he's made as a passer, rebounder and perimeter defender are perhaps the most impressive part of his development so far.
