Celtics, Knicks favorites to have Kyrie Irving by start of 2019

As Kyrie Irving sets to begin his second season with the Boston Celtics, a lot has been made out of the rumors relating him with signing with the New York Knicks.

Las Vegas seems to think the noise is legitimate, because they released odds for what team Irving begins the 2019-20 season on and the Knicks are right behind the Celtics as the favorite.

Irving hasn't said anything that would hint towards his free agency decision next summer, but there have been reports on both sides of him leaving or staying with the Celtics.

Boston can offer him up to a five-year $180 million max-extension while everyone else can offer him up to a four-year $139 million deal.

The 2018-19 season will be one of the most anticipated years for the Celtics since 2008. They have title aspirations with a young core positioned to lead them to contention for the foreseeable future.

They also have this Irving situation that will seemingly hover over everything the Celtics accomplish or don't accomplish during the year.
