Celtics losing streak disappears with win over Wizards

BOSTON -- Here are the Stars, Studs and Duds from Boston’s 107-96 win over Washington which snapped the team’s season-high four game losing streak.

STARS

Bradley Beal: He came into Friday night’s game on a bit of a tear, averaging 32.3 points and 7.4 assists on 53.6 percent shooting in the Wizards’ last eight games. He would lead all scorers on the night with a near double-double of 29 points and 11 assists along with six rebounds.

Kyrie Irving: There are times when Kyrie Irving dominates games by getting buckets. But on Friday, Irving was in more of a giving mood as he totaled a game-high 12 assists in addition to scoring 13 points.

STUDS

Al Horford: The Celtics did a nice job of getting the ball in the paint to Al Horford in the first half which allowed him to have a field day scoring against a slew of smaller Washington defenders. Horford finished with 18 points, 14 of which came in the first half. He also managed to grab six rebounds.

Trevor Ariza: One of the few bright spots for Washington not named Bradley Beal, Ariza had 15 points for the Wizards.

Marcus Morris: He played with an edge from the outset, delivering a tough-minded presence as well as some much-needed production on his part. He had 17 points along with nine rebounds in the Celtics win.

Marcus Smart: His defense was solid, but it was his shot-making that really stood out. He had 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting, including four 3-pointers to give him 417 for his career -- putting him seventh on the Celtics’ all-time leaders list.

DUDS

Second-quarter Celtics: Boston continues to play some of its worst basketball in the second quarter. After leading by as many as 15 points in the first, the Celtics fell behind (albeit briefly) in the second quarter before rallying in the second to take a 49-45 halftime lead. A big part of Boston's second-quarter struggles centered around them turning the ball over five times which led to five points for the Wizards.
