So here's one thing that LeBron James-to-the-Lakers and DeMarcus Cousins-to-the-Warriors did:
They increased the Celtics' odds of winning the NBA championship.
You may wonder how, since the Celtics haven't added (or subtracted) anyone since the odds were first posted June 10. It may simply be that the 76ers' odds went down, since they didn't get LeBron (as they'd dreamed) and so far haven't gotten Kawhi Leonard (as they hope); with that, the C's chances of getting to the NBA Finals -- and perhaps winning it all -- got better. But, as the Warriors' odds show, it won't be easy.
Last note: Pity the poor Cavs.
