Celtics fans will hear a familiar voice in NBA 2K22 video game

If you play the new NBA 2K22 video game as the Boston Celtics, be prepared to feel like you're in TD Garden.

The latest installment in the 2K franchise will feature each team's actual public address announcers as part of the in-game audio experience. That means when Jayson Tatum hits a 3-pointer in the game, you'll hear Celtics PA announcer Eddie Palladino bellow, "Jaaaaayson Taaatum, for threeeeeee!!!" instead of hearing a generic voice in the background.

You'll also get to hear Palladino announce Boston's starting lineups in the video game, just as he's been doing at the real-life Garden for nearly 20 years. An East Boston native and lifelong Celtics fan, Palladino has been the in-arena voice of the team since 2003-04, when he took the job he had wanted since childhood.

"This was always the dream as a kid, going back to when I used to be sequestered up in my bedroom, the Celtics game on TV, the volume off and me doing calls," Palladino said.

NBA 2K22 is scheduled to be released on Sept. 10. Check out the video above to hear more from Palladino, who provides a sneak peek of what his call will sound like in the game.
