Celtics rookie Grant Williams got a technical foul for a wild reason.

Out of all the craziness during the Boston Celtics-Los Angeles Lakers game, the technical foul called on Grant Williams was rather odd.

After hitting a three, Williams smiled and gave a thumbs up to DeMarcus Cousins on the Lakers bench, he was then called for the foul which confused C's fans everywhere.

Williams and Cousins laughed off the matter, and both were even more amused when the Boston rookie was called for the foul.

After the game, Williams confirmed that gesture toward Cousins is exactly why he received the technical foul.

Obviously, Williams wasn't upset by the call as it was inconsequential in the Celtics' decisive 139-107 game over the Lakers.

Along with the triple, Williams recorded three rebounds. The Celtics move to 28-14 on the season and will take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday as they look to build upon their big win over LA.
