Celtics rookie Tremont Waters named NBA G League Player of the Month

Tremont Waters has been sensational for the Maine Red Claws so far this season, and he's been rewarded for his standout performance in the month of November.

Waters was named the NBA G League Player of the Month on Monday. The Boston Celtics two-way rookie was also named G League Player of the Week on Nov. 24.

The C's No. 51 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft becomes the second Red Claws player to earn Player of the Month honors, following Jordan Mickey who earned the award in December 2015.

In seven games, Waters has averaged 22.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.9 steals. The Red Claws are 7-0 when he's in the lineup.

Waters made his NBA debut on Nov. 25, helping the Celtics to a 103-102 victory over the Kings. The LSU product contributed 7 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds in 20 minutes.

Next up for Waters and the Red Claws is a matchup Thursday, Dec. 5 at home against the Wisconsin Herd.
