Scott Morrison may be the next Boston Celtics assistant to leave for a new opportunity.

Morrison, who joined Brad Stevens' staff as an assistant coach in 2017, told RDS’ Peter Yannopoulos he interviewed for the Washington Wizards head coaching position. Washington parted ways with head coach Scott Brooks earlier this month after five seasons.

Prior to joining the Celtics staff, Morrison served as head coach of the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League for three seasons. The 38-year-old is the winningest head coach in Red Claws history and was named G League Coach of the Year in 2015. He reportedly interviewed for the Celtics' head coaching job before the team hired Ime Udoka as Stevens' replacement.

Jerome Allen reportedly joined the Detroit Pistons coaching staff after seven years as a Celtics assistant.
