Celtics set two records with performance from 3-point land vs. Bucks

Doubling down on a commitment to success beyond the arc paid dividends for the Boston Celtics in Game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Connecting on 20 of 43 attempts from 3-point range served as a catalyst for the Celtics in a bounce-back 109-86 victory on Tuesday at TD Garden, the effort carrying some historical significance for the team as well.

By making 20 shots from 3-point land, Boston set a new team record for most made field goals from deep in the postseason. But it was equally as impressive how effective the Celtics were on defense against the Bucks, limiting Milwaukee to a paltry 3 for 15 showing from 3-point range.

In all, the Celtics outscored the Bucks by 51 points from 3-point land in Game 2 -- the largest gap in Eastern Conference playoff history.

What's remarkable is that while Boston's 20 made 3s are impressive, it's still only two more than it made in Game 1 on Sunday, when the C's were 18 of 50 from deep. Of course, the team's biggest struggles in Game 1 were from inside, when Boston made only 10 shots from 2-point range -- its fewest ever, regular or postseason -- and the second-fewest in NBA postseason history.

Jayson Tatum (5 for 10) and Jaylen Brown (6 for 10) were sharp from deep in Game 2. Grant Williams was even better, however, going 6 for 9 en route to a career-high 21 points for the C's.
