Yam Madar made a nice first impression for the Boston Celtics in his Summer League debut Sunday.

The second-round pick (No. 47 overall) in the 2020 NBA Draft -- who won the Israeli Premier League's Most Improved Player award last season -- shined in his first game in Celtics green vs. the Atlanta Hawks. In 17 minutes, Madar dropped eight points (4-of-6 shooting) with two rebounds and two assists.

You can check out all of his highlights here.

Our Chris Forsberg and MassLive.com's Brian Robb have caught Yam Madar fever. The duo discussed Madar's debut, and what the 20-year-old could eventually bring to the Boston Celtics, on a brand new episode of the Celtics Talk Podcast.

"More than anything else with him, the skill that looks like it's going to be able to translate whether he's here this year or down the line is the defense," Robb said. "Really harassing the Hawks point guards all afternoon long and I think was smart with his help defense too."

Forsberg came away impressed with Madar's ability to compete right out of the gate against NBA-caliber talent.

"It was fun," said Forsberg. "He did a lot of fun stuff out there. He had a little pocket pass at one point, it feels like there are going to be translatable skills. And more than anything, he wasn't overmatched against quasi-NBA people. That was my biggest thing was could he hang with those guys on night one of this experience."
