Celtics Talk Podcast: Grant Williams 1-on-1; remembering Kobe; trade deadline looms

Celtics rookie Grant Williams has been dubbed the "Geek Freak" by C's president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. The studious son of a NASA engineer mother, who turned down Ivy League schools to play basketball at Tennessee, he told Chris Forsberg on a new Celtics Talk Podcast that he likes the moniker.

I have the brains so maybe I can keep that name for a little while.

Williams is known to pop into Ainge's office and pepper Ainge with questions.

"I do my best to ask as many questions as I can and soak up the knowledge because he's been doing it for so long," Williams said of Ainge in his one-on-one interview with Forsberg. "He played and now he's in the front-office role making decisions so I really want to know how his brain works."

Among the other topics they hit on both the serious - Kobe Bryant's death: "We're encouraging each other to live on the way Kobe would want us to" to the silly - which Celtic would make the best babysitter? "Not Enes [Kanter], he'd leave my baby to go do an interview."

Later, Forsberg and Kyle Draper talk possible trades as the deadline approaches this Thursday, discuss Jaylen Brown's omission from the All-Star team and reflect on the emotional week for the NBA in the wake of Bryant's passing.

It's all on the latest edition of the Celtics Talk Podcast: on the NBC Sports Boston Podcast Network.
